Date Line 10/23/11: The 2011 Discover Kern County 200 is in the history books!
I hope all of the riders in the 2011 DKC 200 had a great day of riding in Kern County. The weather was great for motorcycle riding and I think I had a good selection of bonus locations spread through out the county for the riders to hunt down and bag. I have to thank Wendy Crockett and Mike Loomer from Cyclesmiths in Kernville, CA for all of their help and their more than generous raffle prize donations! They were my "Volunteer" staff and did a great job of getting the riders out in the morning, checking them in the afternoon and helping with the scoring. Riders from all over the state of California, Oregon, Arizona and Utah showed up to ride in this rally. Thanks to all for making the trip!
I can not thank the Owners and Staff of The Rocket Shop Cafe enough! They opened early for our little group and were very attentive and accommodating. Thank you so much for allowing us to use the Rocket Shop Cafe as Rally HQ!
The whole purpose of this rally was to raise money for Polio Plus. At this time we raised $1009.00! I would say that is a GREAT donation to this worthy cause! I can not thank each of the riders enough for their generous donations! I know there are still a couple of riders who promised a donation, so I suspect the number to go up before I send the donation to Bob Mutchler.
You probably would like to know the outcome of the rally, so here you go!

For a first time "Rally Master" if you will, I had a great time putting this together. I learned a lot yesterday and I hope to deploy what I learned in the 2012 Discover Kern County 200. I plan on holding it again in October of 2012. This rally was, I thought, pretty straight forward. Go ride and get points. Next year I hope to add a few twist which will make it just that much more fun! Again, THANK YOU to all the riders, Wendy, Mike, and the Rocket Shop Cafe!
